Questions About Being Catholic?
We’re Glad You Asked!
The process of becoming Catholic is explored through the program called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This program is approximately nine months and covers several topics of Catholic beliefs:
- Personal relationship with God
- The 10 Commandments
- The structure of Mass
- Mary and the Saints
- Death, Judgement, Heaven and Hell
The RCIA team at St. Francis of Assisi Church is a group of local Catholics who are dedicated to sharing their faith.
If you are interested in joining our RCIA program, please fill out this short form and the RCIA team will contact you.
Attend an Inquiry Session!
On Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00pm, we will offer an “Inquiry Session” in the Parish Hall, located on the north side of the church.
An inquiry session is a friendly and informal opportunity to learn more about the Catholic Faith and ask any questions you may have about becoming Catholic, with no commitment. This session is open to any adult non-Catholic. You are welcome to bring along a Catholic friend, spouse, or family member. Childcare will be available.
No RSVP is required, just arrive at the appointment time. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
R.C.I.A. begins Wednesday, September 9, 2020 @ 6:30pm
RCIA meets in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm – 8:30pm, beginning on September 9th and continuing through Easter.
Each session will include reading “Breaking Open the Word” in preparation for the coming Sunday’s mass readings, and a presentation with small group discussion to explore Catholic teachings. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
Childcare will be provided during the Wednesday evening sessions, free of charge.
Mass attendance is required for those in the RCIA class. You are welcome to attend any Mass of your choice: 5:00pm Saturday, 8:30am Sunday, or 11:00am Sunday. We encourage you to attend Mass with your family, sponsor, and supporters.
